I read "Buck" awhile back and had a blast with it.  Lots of fun!  I know Stephen likes to characterize it as his Syfy monster movie of the week, but it's obviously a lot more than that.  His writing rises head and shoulders above those flicks, while still keeping their overall monster movie feel and that of much better monster films, like "Jaws".  Danny Kelly's art is great, too.  Rough for a reason, with stark detail that gets across the sparseness of small town life and the very basic (un)natural threat the town faces.  The whole idea of the book is one I've always loved – the 'nature gone wrong' story – everything from "Lake Placid" to "Night of the Lepus".  I can't wait to see what caused the apparent mutation in the book…and why that deer is so goddamned angry.  :D

I love this book. I am already hooked and I can't wait for the second issue. I love that the illustrations are done in back and the only 'color' is the blood. I love the art, how it looks simple and clean. Also the cover of issue one was amazing! I recommend this title to all of my friends.
